All About Kate

Where would fashion's inspiration come from if it wasn't for the models! The supermodel phenomena is responsible for a good chunk of Vogue's evolution, designer's collections, and of course jaw dropping ad campaigns. One of those frequently seen models, Kate Moss, has particularly influenced fashion in her own way. Before Gisele lead the Brazilian model craze by storm and Karlie Kloss dominated Vogue editorials, Kate was everyone's fashion muse. While she's had her fair of controversies from her rockstar romances to her not so star worthy scandals, Kate has proven why she has and always will be fashion's greatest trend. After more than twenty years of modeling, Kate's smoldering high cheek bones are still gracing many billboards and magazines. Here's a look at some of Kate's various model moments:

Bonjour Fashion Week, Hello Red Carpet!

As September comes to an end, so has the fashion month of endless events including FNO and Fashion Week. Instead of giving a recap of the whole month, I thought I'd highlight two of my latest favorite fashion shows, which took place during Paris Fashion Week.

The Louis Vuitton show left me in awe! Usually, I'm not a huge fan of Louis but I do love all things Marc Jacobs related. The whimsical show included a merry go round, Kate Moss, and gorgeous designs. The models each took turns stepping off the merry go round to show off the clothes, which mostly consisted of feminine, light colors. Although I wasn't totally sold on the lose fit of the designs, the format of the show was heavenly. Out of all of the different innocent retro looks, my favorite was the detailing of the jackets. Mr. Jacobs' angelic direction showed promise for the much speculated possibility that he is headed to Dior. Perhaps the merry go round was symbolizing the start of his next adventure?

Another recent show that caught my eye was Elie Saab. I love Saab's gowns so much that a few years ago I made a mental note of putting the designer in my top potential wedding dress designers! What's not to adore about the dazzling Elie Saab fabrics? During red carpet events, it's easy to spot which gowns are made by the Lebanese designer but they've never been boring or too predictable. At the Paris fashion show, the designs lived up to high expectations with signature soft pastels, as well as bold winter colors. I look forward to spotting these beautiful dresses all throughout award and holiday season!

Fashion Friday: Top Five Favorites of the Week

Usually every Friday I post five of my favorite looks of the week. However, I was barely able to find three decent outfits for this post. As a result, I decided to do something a little bit different this week. Instead of posting five stylish looks today, here's my five favorite fashion obsessions of the week.

5.
Conservative Bohemian
Thank God for Rachel Zoe! This was the only look of the week worthy of posting. Sure it's nothing spectacular, but she's rocking a look many people struggle to put together. This type of style has a fun, summer feel but isn't classified as hipster. A conservative bohemian style includes funky pieces, but does not over accessorize. It's ok to channel your inner Pocahontas, but keep it classy while doing so. After all, you don't want to look like you're going to Woodstock.

4.
Dolce and Gabbana-The One
I've started borrowing(ok stealing)this perfume from my mom lately. It has a sweet smell but also has a mature signature scent.

3.
Fashion's Night Out
A whole night dedicated to fashion. Ah, it's like a religious holiday in my book. It's described as the largest shopping event of the year. What's not to love?! Check out FNO's website or Twitter for more info.

2.
MyFDB
Recently, I came across a website that is considered the fashion version of IMDB. The fabulous Zoe Saldana and Keith Britton, her fiance, are the geniuses behind this creation. On IMDB, you can click on a director's name and see his or her's body of work. On my MyFDB, you can do the same with  models, makeup artists, photographers, stylists, and much more! The website is so overwhelming and perfect for anyone who is interested in fashion. Check out the website here or follow them on Twitter.

1.
Kate Moss on the September issue of Vogue
This will easily go down as one of my favorite Vogue covers. I feel like most of this week all I heard about was the coverage of Kate's wedding. As someone who has had their wedding planned since they were a child, I was excited to see the pictures from her ceremony. Although we have different taste(I would prefer to get married indoors at the Plaza Hotel), I was captivated by the details of Kate's wedding. She really IS fashion royalty. Read more about the wedding here.

Since fall is right around the corner, hopefully the top five looks will be easier to find next week. There's so many exciting events coming up in the fashion world! Until then, enjoy the last days of summer and have a wonderful weekend =)
