Fashion Icon: Diane Kruger

In honor of my 50th post, I decided to shed the spotlight on one of my all time favorite style inspirations. Whether she's gracing the red carpet or taking a stroll with her longterm partner Joshua Jackson(swoon!), Diane Kruger always looks effortlessly incredible. She has great taste in clothing and is a true trendsetter. Here are some of my favorite Diane fashion moments! (Sidenote: If anyone really does make a movie about Grace Kelly, Diane better be casted)

Yes Michelle Williams' 2007 Oscar dress was phenomenal but I'm definitely a bigger fan of Diane's dress from the 2010 SAG Awards. Both mustard colors were beautiful changes from the usual red carpet dresses, but the shape of this Jason Wu gown was perfection. The ruby jewels and bright lipstick only added even more elegance to this appearance!

THIS is how you rock a mini and keep it classy. Take notes ladies! The detailing of the pattern on the shoulders is to die for. Mixing black and red is already a bold statement, but adding that pattern and the belt is what makes this dress so fashionable.

When she's not taking risks with extravagant dresses, Diane also rocks the casual and cute looks. I love how she took such a simple group of clothing items and added adorable feminine qualities. The blue, black, and cream colors all go together perfectly without the outfit looking "too matchy matchy".

The Dolce and Gabbana number was a popular red carpet look this year but I think Diane had the best interpretation of how to wear it. The detailing of the dress is already captivating enough, without needing  to add jewelry(says the girl who never leaves the house without a necklace, bracelet, and earrings). The emphasis on throwing her hair back just shows the importance of less is more. Diane really let the dress do all of the work, without over-styling the look.

I guess if you're going to be best friends with Karl Lagerfeld, it's expected to strut around in Chanel white skirts like they're just your casual Sunday wear. But for your boyfriend to dress like his life is a GQ photo shoot...talk about match made in heaven. If I didn't love these two, I would forever hate them for their classy and trendy appearances.

"I truly genuinely like clothes. Making them is an art form, and wearing them is a form of self-expression. I find it very emotional because I can remember moments in my life - my mood, how I felt - through these clothes."

Fashion Friday: Top Five Favorites of the Week

Five Fashion Favorites in the Entertainment Industry!

5.
I've always been a big fan of Natalie Wood and it took a sad recent turn of events for her name to be back in the news. She never got the same hype as Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe, but Natalie was the true definition of a movie star. In addition to her cultural impact, I found her to be a great style icon. Natalie's not famous for princess appearances like Grace or iconic jewelry like Elizabeth, but there was something about her beauty that no star today would even be able to imitate.

4.
There's just something about old Hollywood this week! Natalie isn't the only tragic life being talked about lately. With Michelle Williams latest movie "My Week With Marilyn"out, Ms Monroe is back to catching everyone's attention. I've yet to see the movie that will most likely nab Williams an Oscar nod--and hopefully a win. The movie has been getting rave reviews and I can't wait to see Michelle bring the screen legend back to life! Unlike the Kennedys (who only got a TV movie), Marilyn had an interesting story which Harvey Weinstein will obviously be pimping out around award season.

3.
If you're not watching Revenge, you're missing out. The vengeful drama is one of the best shows on TV right now. Hamptons, luxurious parties, and glamorous outfits...what more could one want? There's nothing better than curling up on a Wednesday night and watching Victoria Grayson terrify everyone with her icy stares. Still trying to recover from her "every time I hug you, the warmth you feel is my hatred burning through" line to her ex BFF.

2.
Remember the days when Gossip Girl was actually good? And Blair always wore flawless outfits? I'm thankful that I'm able to pretend the last few seasons never happened and believe it's still that way. Here's a flashback to Blair Waldorf's Thankgiving wardrobe from Season 1.
...sigh...where did it all go wrong!

Makeup Styles With Chase Aston!

This past Friday, I had the amazing opportunity to get my makeup done by Chase Aston at The Body Shop in the Prudential Mall. Chase has done makeup for tons of fabulous celebrities like Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Britney Spears, and Cameron Diaz. It was hard to keep my cool in the makeup chair when he mentioned that he's done makeup for Vogue editorials and Queen Anna Wintour. On top of having an amazing clientele, Chase is a total sweetheart! Despite his busy schedule, he showed up to Beantown with so much energy and lots of helpful makeup tips.

For my makeup, Chase gave me a smokey eye look. I was so in love with the colors that I was dreading  cleaning off my makeup later that night. Luckily for me and other shoppers, The Body Shop actually sells the 4-Colour Eye Palette that Chase used. And for those of you who are like me and are not so skilled with a makeup brush, no need to worry! On the back of this palette, there are clear instructions on how to master smokey eyes.

Out of all of the products Chase used, my favorites were The Sparkler and the Extra Virgin Minerals Compact Foundation. I was amazed by the effect these two products had on my skin. They completely cover up any blemishes and project a flawless glow! The best part about all of the makeup Chase uses is that they're all natural. You can enjoy the look of your makeup without your skin feeling greasy because the makeup is produced by natural ingredients.

Make sure to drop by The Body Shop to check out these amazing products. They're also sure to make great stocking stuffers with the holidays right around the corner!

Thanks again to Chase and Rita and Lara from Bratskeir & Company for such a fun night!
