2015 Oscars: Best Dressed

Trendy, trendy! This year's Oscars provided many fresh and modern looks to the red carpet, making it hard to narrow down who wore what best!

Zoe Saldana
Didn't she just pop out two kids? Because there's absolutely no sign of it. Zoe has always been the most fun red carpet fashionista (/slightly biased) and this pink Versace brought my admiration for her back in full force.

Sienna Miller
Love. Her. Sienna looked fabulous in this black classic Oscar de la Renta gown. If you're going to wear black to the Oscars, you need to take an extra step to make a statement and Sienna totally did by bringing the sophistication factor.

Rosamund Pike
FINALLY! To be honest, Rosamund has not been bringing it this award season with her fashion choices. But all is completely forgiven now because she saved her best look for the most important occasion. With this red Givenchy dress, Rosamund brought that British elegance that we all knew she had in her.

Marion Cotillard
Goddess! The white color and circular pattern gave a slight nostalgic nod to Cotillard's Oscar winning dress from 2008. However, Marion stayed true to her original style giving us something different to salivate over with this Dior gown's beautiful texture and draping in the back.

Jennifer Lopez
Oh hi there perfection. JLo looks timeless, no shock. While the makeup was a little off, her Elie Saab gown looked beautiful, providing another JLo photo op to put up on life inspiration boards.

Lupita Nyong'o
That back! That front! Those cut outs! Again, Lupita remains the queen of award season. This custom Calvin Klein pearl dress was the number one standout on the red carpet. The Academy should've presented Lupita with her Oscar again last night just so we could honor her fabulous-ness some more.

Saying Goodbye To A Legend

Oscar de la Renta might as well invented the word timeless for his designs constantly captured such a breathtaking perfection. The designer was the rare kind of artist who could combine sophistication, drama, and softness all in one look. Over the years, Oscar never failed to awe with his charming designs and personality. I've found such inspiration from following not just his amazing collections but also his representation of himself and his brand (as seen through his interaction with the new tech age). For me, Oscar de la Renta has always symbolized the ideal brand to work for - one that valued creativity and ambition.

I'm not one to romanticize but Oscar de la Renta's art and presence in the fashion industry gave us all a reason to be dreamers. With his ear to ear full smile, Oscar always seemed so full of life. The intriguing sense of beauty he brought with his talent and his charisma makes this recent loss even more tragic.

Rest in peace to an amazing icon, you've left a mark that will never be forgotten xx

Met Gala 2014

Warmer weather, lighter clothes, beach trips - none of these beginning of summer traditions have quite the same effect as the annual Met Gala. The extravagant event marks fashion's version of the Oscars, meaning the red carpet intensifies with a sprawling staircase and the dress expectations get even higher. This year, the theme was "Charles James: Beyond Fashion," calling for the chicest black tie New York City get together.

J'adore Dior! Leave it to Charlize to bring the fierceness to the event. Charlize Theron killed it, as usual, in this black and white number. The real standout of this attire: those earrings! Talk about modernizing a classic event.

With this Burberry gown, Suki Waterhouse showed why everyone should probably stop referring to her as just Bradley Cooper's girlfriend/Sookie Stackhouse (the ladder can't just be me?). The ruffles, gorgeous ombre, and dark lip totally gave Suki a well deserved entrance to the Delevigne/Smalls/Dunn supermodel crowd.

Oscar de la Renta's gowns never fail with the intricate detailing and dramatic appeals. And for this reason exactly, I would never even think TSwift would fit with the brand's image. So kudos to both for combining Oscar's amazing talent and Taylor's love of sparkles for what made a fairytale come true on the steps of the Met. Bonus points for the appropriate use of red lip.

This is what a dream couple looks like. The Beckhams, aka true British royalty, looked stunning in this simplistic, yet elegant combination. Posh took the event to smolder and wear her own design - flawless. How does one find such a sleek dress and man!

It took me a few years to get on the Blake Lively train but this glamorous Gucci gown did me in. I need this girl to come out of her fashion retirement that resulted from her marriage and dominate again. The caping (my new favorite red carpet trend) and the fit of this gown have me SO ready for her fabulous reign this time.

The queen of the Met Gala (sorry Anna). SJP strolled into this event with her hair high and Oscar de la Renta gown trailing on those red stairs like a true fashion icon. And the back of that dress! The monogram, the ODLR signature - gasp/swoon! This look is timeless and with every SJP moment, we are truly watching fashion history occur.

Fashion Roundup: Cannes 2013

Oh Cannes! The film festival where it's the best of everything: movies, yachts, and more importantly iconic red carpet moments.

Marion Cotillard looked fresh and gorgeous in this Vivenne Westwood dress at Cannes. The festival is usually noted for its more glamorous looks but with Marion's minimal makeup and peach stripes, she looked effortlessly perfect!

Freida Pinto sparkled her way up the Cannes red staircase. With this jeweled top and high waist shape, Pinto channeled her inner flapper and completely accomplished the 20s' trend.

Great Gatsby star Isla Fisher brought her A game in ruffles with this Oscar de la Renta dress. The bright color with the tribal styled Bulgari jewels was a timeless look for the festival's summery vibe.

From Harry Potter to The Bling Ring, Emma Watson made a fashion transition with her film and fashion roles. Typically one for dramatic apparel, Emma approached Cannes with a more toned down look. First, Watson went classic with a black and white Chanel dress. Nothing says Cannes debut like a little sequin and semi backless dress! For her first photo call, Emma wore a Christopher Kane two piece. The deep red and frills were a little dark for the season, but Emma's posh style helped pull it off!

Fashion Muses

Every innovator is influenced by some muse, and in fashion, those glitzy inspirations come in many forms. The fashion It Girl can be the person brining a designer's clothes to life on the runway, showing off effortless street style at the countless shows of fashion week, managing the communications of a brand, or browsing looks for famous clients. No matter which role they play, they're the reason those seasonal trends go editorial and red carpet ready!

The Model

Twenty years old and on top of her modeling game. Since about 2011, Cara Delevingne has been winning over the fashion world with her thick eyebrows and goofy persona. The British model has worked with labels like Burberry, Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan, and was even an Angel for the day. And as if earning Vogue's praise wasn't enough, Cara won Model of the Year 2012 at the British Fashion Awards. Despite her exciting resume, it's Cara's fun personality that's made her everyone's favorite It Girl. Her carefree style and blunt humor make it hard not to love her.

The Socialite
Nepotism can only make those five minutes of fame last for so long. The reality shows will bomb, the perfume lines will get shoved in the back of your local Sephoras, and your dignity will suffer major ego bruising. But for Olivia Palermo, her little stint on MTV's The City seemed like that math test you bombed in high school. Sucked in the moment, but easily forgotten and rarely came back to haunt you. Olivia's glamorous taste has resulted in some amazing opportunities. Front rows at fashion shows and recent modeling Oscar de la Renta for Outnet.com. Girl is so high fashion, it's hard to remember she came to attention from a reality show.

The Director of Communications
Oscar de la Renta is the epitome of elegant glamour mixed with modern youthfulness. Everyone wants to be exposed to those dream worthy ruffles. For @OscarPRGirl Erika Bearman, that dream is her everyday reality. Every girl on Twitter with an interest in fashion can't help but obsess over Erika's exciting adventures that come with her job. The Social Media Queen keeps everyone up to date on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest.  The small glimpses into her life from tweets of conversations with Oscar and pictures of her gorgeous outfits (crop top with ballroom skirt? check!) gives a girl hope that you really can have it all.

The Stylist
Kate Hudson, Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway. Just to name a few of Rachel Zoe's A-list cliental. The celeb stylist has claimed major attention for being responsible for the note worthy red carpet styles and basically inventing "boho chic". Going to all the fashion shows to find looks for your client while also organizing a show for your own fashion line - it's just a day in the life for Rachel Zoe!

"You should always be learning. If you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong place."

Best Dressed Oscars 2013

Holy Oscar Sunday, aka the biggest red carpet event of the year. And despite the major lack of color, the drama in the dresses were bigger than the Best Picture nominees.

Amanda Seyfried
Looking fierce in McQueen. The light colors became an extremely repetitive trend of the night but at least Amanda brought it with the texture and structure of her gown. The light shade was a perfect match for her light skin tone and big dolly eyes. On top of the coloring, the shape was perfect for Miss Seyfried! Not only was it so smart of her stylist to stick with a slim fitting gown for her tiny figure, but the collar and cleavage was totally Oscar appropriate. Take note of your co-star Hathaway. This is how to show off your assets correctly!

Amy Adams
Like the real life Disney princess she is, Amy Adams looked like a dream in this lavender gown. It's not a red carpet until Oscar de la Renta is present and those ruffles certainly drew attention. While I would have preferred a little bit more diamonds or sparkle, Amy knocked it out of the park with that train alone.

Jennifer Hudson
Midnight blue was as close as we got to color on Oscar night, so thank you for that Jennifer Hudson! The shimmer, the slit- all so fierce! I'm usually not a fan of long sleeve dresses, but this Roberto Cavalli was full of so much detail. Particularly loving the material at the top and how it transitions to a light flow at the bottom of the dress. Completely fitting and perfect for her performing role of the night!

Jennifer Lawrence
It's Jennifer Lawrence's world and we're just living in it. This girl doesn't even need a Harvey Weinstein Oscar campaign, that's how hard she's winning everyone over this year/award season. Owning her recent Dior spokeswoman role, J.Law came in full elegance with this amazing train. Although I definitely love the look, I wish and hope in the future Dior provides Jennifer with edgier looks. Jennifer is so young that she deserves bolder dresses, like the ones fellow Dior ladies Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard sport. Nevertheless, this gown is timeless and perfect for the Oscars!

Jessica Chastain
Oh hello 60s glamour! Jessica nailed it when she described her dress as a "Happy Birthday Mr. President" gown. The Armani Prive with vintage Harry Winston jewels were perfect for Hollywood's newly A-list leading lady. The champagne color went surprisingly well with her pale skin tone and that red lip definitely helped her stand out, instead of being washed out. Jessica Chastain was the definition of Hollywood glamour.

Zoe Saldana
What do you do when your gorgeous ex-boyfriend is the sole reason for every woman's swooning this award season? Show up in the most intricate dress of the night to clarify you are the hottest of all the fashion risk takers. Obviously. At least, that's what Zoe Saldana did in this Alexis Mabille gown. Who knew black and white could be so fabulous? I was immediately won over when I saw my favorite trend (ruffles) but the belt plus the open slit train? Best dressed of the night, easily.

Fashion Friday: Oscar de la Renta Elegance

Oscar de la Renta: designs beyond explainable perfection where the ads can be this simple because the dresses do all of the marketing.

Ay swoon! As if still trying to recover from the flawless Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012 collection wasn't hard enough, now the designer's breathtaking looks are being displayed all over the glossy pages of Vogue. Fall advertisements are always the best due to their sharp, fashionable edge. Which is exactly what Candice Swanepoel and Katryn Kruger are showing in this Oscar de la Renta collection! Elegance, poise, and overall fierceness...it's no wonder the expression "Oscar de la Renta posture" was coined.

The Best of NYFW!

After a week of tracking the fabulous new Fall/Winter 2012 collections, New York Fashion Week has come to an end. While I'll miss having my Twitter feed flooded with new runway updates every morning, I'm excited to share some of my favorite collections! Choosing only a few designers seems selfish and a little too Sophie's Choice but I managed to scout out some highlights anyways...

DKNY/Donna Karan

First off, Donna Karan is the epitome of perfection. Her two fashion shows(which could not have been more different) were jaw dropping gorgeous. While her DKNY show was youth driven, the actual Donna Karan line had more of a retro, sleek appeal. I loved how DKNY seemed to have captured a modern woman in NYC and Donna Karan showed a sophisticated woman with a 40's NYC inspired gangster style. The highlight? It had to have been that beautiful tailoring!

Jenny Packham
Lately, Jenny Packham has transformed into one of the go to red carpet designers, and after this show her credibility will only increase. Packham's designs always include beautiful detailing from the sleeves to lace to those extraordinary sequins. The designer certainly delivered her usual flare and more at NYFW. Her dresses included contemporary designs but also showed a little retro throwback, which seemed to be a popular theme this past week. Nevertheless, Packham's dresses had me swooning! Can't wait to see her usual fan favorites, like Angelina Jolie and Vanessa Hudgens, strut some of these dresses on future red carpets.

Oscar de la Renta
Ah Oscar! Can you believe this man is turning 80 soon? Oscar de la Renta is full of charm, whether it's coming from his dazzling personality or beautiful designs. His Fall/Winter 2012 collection was simply timeless. His looks diversified with themes of magic, royalty, fantasy, and much more. Oscar captivates everything that makes one a legendary designer. A design is truly special when it literally makes you gasp for air, which is why the Oscar de la Renta show was my personal favorite of New York Fashion Week.

Award Season: 2012 SAG Awards

As award season continues, the dresses are only getting bigger and better! Here's the best dressed from last night's ceremony:

I'm pretty picky when it comes to wearing green colors. However, Emily Blunt's Oscar de la Renta was a fun and refreshing pop of color. The SAGS are definitely a serious occasion but it's really the last opportunity to show off some major color like this before the Oscars.

Sofia Vergara also wasn't afraid to shy away from the bright shades! As always, Sofia dressed her curves beautifully in this Marchesa number with some captivating jewels.

Can she stop being so flawless?! Angelina Jolie has been looking absolutely perfect at every event she's attended these past few months. This sleek Jenny Packham dress fits her style so well! Her looks have been so "glamorous movie star" lately and I can't wait to see what she pulls off at the Oscars.

Only Michelle Williams could take such a simple dress(plus retro shoes) and look so breathtaking! Loved the lace on this Valentino gown which added so much fabulousness to this dress. Some say you can only be a Jackie or a Marilyn, but I think Michelle makes the perfect combination of both. So classy yet so saucy! Sidenote: Her pixie cut totally outdoes Mia Farrow's

Speaking of hot! Lea Michele is my favorite diva, especially at award season time. No one struts onto the red carpet quite like the Glee actress does. Lea wore this Versace dress with so much confidence, and why shouldn't she? She's only starting out as a young Hollywood but she easily blends into the A-list. Lea completely stole the show with this stunning look!
